Debauchery

I inhaled the smoke, then wished to flee,
thinking to myself "This is debauchery!".
Take a gutter stub
and light it back up,
seeing how a slow death be your fancy!

My dad died of lung cancer at 56. Kind of a scarey thought now that I'm 51. Terrible habit that costs all of us in health care dollars and family misery.

That is a scary thought! (My dad is almost 59). Smoking is one of those things I've adamantly avoided... I just don't understand the appeal.

Must be a sad thing to witness. Limericks are supposed to be funny, but in a way this is more so cynical. Thanks for reading!

I just feel it's a very "unnatural" thing to do. For whatever reason drinking doesn't bother me, but inhaling smoke seems like something that never meant to BE (unless of course you're in a burning building).

Hey Timothy...I'm a fan of limericks! To your question...she was standing ON the tracks...ha. The poem is actually about a smokin' hot picture of my wife...haha

Well then it makes the poem all the more exciting (and I mean exciting in two different ways... lol).
