Lost hope means no future

1) Did the children run free
with glee?
2) Were the fields thriving with
joy?
3) Did the people immerse
themselves in the land of the
free?
4) And did we ignore the
sanctuary and set out only to
destroy?

1) Ma'am the children did run
in the summer,
Their voices beaming with the
happiness
That childhood allows. But
ma'am, the glee was destroyed
And the children dragged down
with it.
2) The fields soaked in the joy;
The joy that the people were
known for- ma'am.
They thrived in it, and the
blossom cheerful grew.
But then the blossom shrivelled
and died.
It suffocated- the blood of the
young suffocated it...
Until they were no more.
3) Yes ma'am.
They immersed themselves in
the town and people;
They immersed themselves in
the freeness of
The life they had.
None of them were to know
that the life they know
Would be destroyed: crumbling,
falling, burning around them.
4) Ma'am: the people came
with the cruel planes
Dropping angry bombs on the
innocences that radiated in the
town.
Destroying the joy of the fields.
And killing the blossom.
And now nothing. The children,
blossom and people
They are all gone. Crushed by
the heaviness of the past.
And destroyed with the missing
hope that is their future.
