Heroes

What evil lurks in tiny minds
To do despicable acts
I wish we could predict with signs
And stop them in their tracks

Some think the world is now insane
There's more of "Them" than "Us"
But listen to this thoughtful claim
Jump off the hopeless bus

As long as we have Heroes near
Who risk their Lives and run
There isn't much we need to fear
No setting of the sun

In or out of uniform
Working or just watching
First Responders as their Norm
Arrive to do the helping

For never fear the evil deeds
We all must go on living
For good will always plant the seeds
Of Heroes Forever Giving

We take 'em for granted until something like this happens. God bless those people so quick to risk their lives for us.

Rick, fantastic tribute. I was in the safety arena for 20 years (911 Dispatcher for 12 years). This is a poignant piece and captures it all.

A lovely tribute to those selfless souls who are always ready to put themselves in harms way to keep us safe. I like your message here. Mahalo for leaving a comment.

A hymn to humanity! A monument of sensitivity, beautifully constructed with words of praise well deserved! Well done Rick! Thank you!
