A Flock

A flock of Blackbirds visited
They fed on cracked acorns
And left well filled; a few Robins
Ate as each one returned

Two Blackbirds came to drink water
From the local shared fount
Which each day slowly gets lower
On these dry days their haunt

I am a rare breed my friend, I like those black birds, especially the raven! I have been so enthralled by the Edgar Allan Poe's work, The Raven that I have loved this color of bird...even though they are disgusting! Your poem is exquisite Sara, I love reading it this evening! What a fantastic piece, Great work!!

It's fun to see them in their flocks. I think it is called congregations, something like that? Nice one, Sara.
