TheTwo Prisoners

The process of frowning
Comes easy to me
I look at the negative
In servitude to selfish needs
Colors of hate lust and death
So harshly surround my day
I do not see a light
And stumble along the way
For I am a prisoner condemned
Where is God in this place of no light

The process of smiling
comes easy to me
I look at the positive
In servitude to my faith’s need
Why would I choose
The darks and the grays
When colors of plenty
So warmly abound my way
To ascertain the light
Be no *baskets for me
Even though I be a prisoner
My God remains with me

*Ref: Matt 5:5
