The Glow of Angels

To think each star we see
was there but might not be.
A star when we were born
could now be dead and gone,
but even stars that die
will light eternity.

A wave forever
lights tomorrow's past,
then here and beyond,
washes in a flash
to infinity.

It touches all
but none can feel
the hint of warm
reality.

Yesterday
shines today
with angels

ever
lovely

GLOW...

Whismical thoughts. I tried this form lang syne and deemed it unworthy to post on the soup, therefore I admire your amazing skill in wording this poem.

This is absolutely beautiful! The idea of something finite becoming infinite...the transitory becoming intransitory is something that touches us all, for we are here today and gone tomorrow! Thanks for sharing!

''Even stars that die will light eternity.'' thanks Craig, for giving me this consolation as i mourn the death of one of Nigerian's cultural activists and nationalists - Professor Chinua Achebe. Your words very rightly validate his immortality. And they inspire up-coming ones like us to keep up the fight against cultural dislocation, racial phobia, intellectual shyness and lack of indigenous technology in your brother Nigeria/Africa. thanks with love.

I agree with Anne Lise's comment. I do not want to be stifled of thoughts because of form. If I write with a particular form and then vary a little I put it as a free verse. You're extremely talented Craig so just be free with your thoughts, let them flow. Warm Smiles, Connie

    - I often see that many people are very concerned about the "form" - I write what I feel and what I have in my mind. - Let your beautiful words come as they are - this is a lovely poem, Craig! - oxox / / Anne-Lise :)

Forms?...Bah, Hum-bug!...Fantastic poem Craig...I am fascinated with the universe, time and space etc....As I'm sure you know...When a new star is discovered, that means it has taken that long for that stars' light to reach us and the speed of light is 186,000 miles a second...Mind boggling - Tim

Interesting theory Tim and actually I think the Bible might tell us this in its wisdom and parables and metaphors.

I am a believer in the theory of 'Theistic Evolution'...I am what they call a 'Christain Darwinist'...basically meaning that God set the whole thing in motion and let it naturally evolve....
