About This Poem
Made to Wonder Why
Birds sometimes nest in places
Not meant for them to be.
I suppose the same might then be said
For the likes of you and me.
Landing twigs from nearby trees
And colorful strings less found;
While making homes from brick and stone
We humans prefer the ground.
Not that clouds aren’t so enticing
As wings in wide open sky;
Where birds were made for soaring there
And we’re made to wonder why.
