Winner

I can remember the time, almost a day ago
when your unkindly words added to my woe
the lightest of days and the darkest of nights
your words echoing in my nightly sight
I strive to carry on, starvation falls fast
if deprivation appears-will these sights still last
up and down, on the merry go I go round
the music blaring loudly yet I cant drown out the sound
I'm here, I'm yours but now I've gone again
what would it take for me to remain
the blemishes, the scars, the knife in my back
helps me keep my footsteps along the right track

I hear, I see, I do what I'm learnt
but I think that enabled me to get my fingers burnt
I lived, I saw, I've done all I'm taught
but alas all my trials have come to nought
I move forward, I move back, I rise and I fall,
would there be any open arms to catch me at all
