Jamie Looks

A fragile beauty the hatchling is…

The Boy,
            Young, Loving

Wanting to discover what closely kept secrets Mother Nature so seldom divulges.

The hatchling, so trusting,
                                        so blind;

Not knowing the danger,
the human touch can bring.

The Childs soft, caring hands,

takes the peeping wonder under his own wing to comprehend its tiny life;

Unknowingly giving a slow diet of death.

Mother comes,
no more.

The brood discovering lifelessness in a heap
                                                                  of
                                                         grass and
                                                                       twigs.
