About This Poem

OUR BACKYARD

OUR BACKYARD

we have habitat
nor wire nor fence enclosing
open habitat

animals roam free
god ordained environment
clear blue sky to see

such the normal clime
since the snake spoke from the tree
since primeval time

man laboring hard
so slowly changed all that but
not in our backyard

Sounds like a safe haven for these animals, Daver! I think that animals have an uncanny sense of choosing the proper and secure place to settle down. Weather is starting to warm up here, Daver...a couple of degrees above freezing mark can feel balmy. Keep well.....Love, Mikki
