THE HUMMINGBIRD REVELATION

The Hummingbird Revelation

2-28-13
After getting her attention, we watched two hummingbirds from a distance, play and sip nectar.
We continued our walk as I explained how cool it would be, if I extended my arm and the bird just rested in the palm of my hand.
My wifey says, that would be a dream. Me knowing that also, kind of played with the creator, and said in my mind; Lord if you could place a hummingbird in my hand, I'll know that you exist!

On this following day, 3-1-13 around 8am, returning from the store again. As I approached the backdoor a hummingbird flies within 4 feet of me, hovering alongside my bbq grill. So I momentarily paused. I took two soft steps towards it, it descended between the legs of the grill, hovering just above ground. I was surprised it hadn't fled. The previous day comes to mind...asking God for what I deemed impossible!

The hummingbird ascends to the level of my eyes, a foot and a half away. It turned side to side allowing me to marvel at its beauty!
Beige feathers with dark brown peppered specks, that blended into the money-green upper half. The slender beak and those black eyes that examined me.

The hairs on my arms stood, as goosebumps populated my skin.
The presence there, along with the hummingbird and myself, says lift your hand, in my mind...and I froze! This 2 minutes may have been a revelation and a opportunity to hold Gods grace within the palm of my hand!

Be careful what you ask for, you may just get it!

It happens Scribe, if you put sugar water into a red bottle cap they do come with patience and it's the most amazing feeling. I did it with a chickadee too. Loved the precious emotion you describe when this happens! Love, Lizzie

Gifted peole pay attention to the world around them - you are a definite example of this sentiment Scribe - sometimes we need to exercise the courage to not only ask for blessings but also to receive them with respect and grace - cool write and moment - J.A.B. %

This is nice. I love hummingbirds. A lady in florida put some sugared water in a red little dish. She went out to put it there for the birds, she had it in the palm of her hand. The hummingbirds came and drank the water. It was beautiful. her husband took the picture and it was sent to me. You can try that. Lucilla
