About This Poem
Sleepless Nights
Sleepless Nights
Alone I stare in silence of the night
And shiver with the breeze caressing cold
The brilliance of the full moon’s sultry light
Illuminates a painting to behold
A ring of pink surrounds its misty glow
As if embracing it in lover’s skies
I watch the love from my spot down below
Alone I gaze in awe with sleepy eyes
I think of someone many miles away
Awak’ning to the sun’s first gentle peep
His moon has disappeared into the day
And comes to sweetly watch me while I sleep
And yet I slumber not, as still I swoon
With misty eyes I’m gazing at the moon
