About This Poem
THE GEISHA
Mystery's enchantress, whom dwells,
Admits fortunes favored land,
Of the rising sun.
Treasures precious peril,
Amongst oriental gardens,
Scared walls.
Delicate flower mistress,
Of silken gowns.
Softness steps, make no sound,
Except sweet whispers music,
Announcing her arrival.
Shedding cherry blossoms descend,
Under moonlights translucent spell,
The Samurai lays down his sword.
Casting for-get-me-knots toward,
Four winds temptations.
Forbidden lovers partake,
Pleasures in stolen silences,
Embrace.
Yielding surrender unto,
The heart of humanity,
Within deepest chambers,
Recesses the lady weeps,
For loves everlasting embrace.
The Geisha kneels, in prayer.
Behind Ivory skin masquerade,
Perfections doll knows sorrows,
Truth.
Yet gracefully, she walks away,
A false smile crosses redden lips.
Hidden behind paper laces fan,
Deceptions actress concealed,
Beneath beauties most fare.
Alone figure patiently,
Awaits nights,
Secret calling,
In the farthest most eastern,
Garden.
