About This Poem
Our Last Day
The memories scorch my brain,
they're branded on my heart.
The details now forever
ingrained,
the fabric of my soul torn apart.
The conclusion was inevitable,
the reality of life's experience.
Sorrow now inescapable,
your impact on my life so
intense.
The last expression,
impervious,
your will to live unshaken.
The last action, defiance,
until your last breath was
taken.
I held your hand in a loving
way,
these are the memories of our
last day.
