About This Poem

Raspberry Pink

Just a little flower attempting to thrive
Trampled and forgotten,

   ...that’s how he found her

Just when she thought she’d shrivel up and die
He came along and gave her some water

And caused the sunlight to once again shine upon her

Her life was renewed, her leaves grew back
Her color was restored

    ...Raspberry pink

And she grew there, feeling happy at last
Because he had given her sunshine and a drink

He loved her whether she was wilty or bright
and fulfilled her every morning, afternoon, and night

Now the little flower knew that she would survive
     Growing, glowing, happy

    ....and alive

So sweet, endearing... and full of life! I like your sensitivity towards a wilting little flower. It speaks of unconditional love and going out of your way just to make things a little brighter than when you found it. Wonderful!

this is such a sweet poem. Is it for the spring contest? Isn't there a Prince song about a Raspberry Beret or something? It's a really nice color for this happy "flower!"

Wow, this poem about sums it up for a successful relationship my friend! This is exactly how I see my wife and my relationship, we hit highs and lows together and survived! Trust me, I've seen her lowest low, and I still loved her all the same! What a fabulous piece, Great Work!!

What an absolutely enchanting write. Very beautifully written. It carried me alone to the very last line. Goes into my favorites to share with my students when I teach the lesson on figurative speech and metaphors.
