Haunted Wood

in the woods a figure glows
where it comes from no one knows
it beckons you
it lures you in
it's voice is heard on the wind
out of nowhere it appears
and preys upon your darkest fears
this spirit makes the woods its home
so dare not venture out alone

This is a little scary. The unknown does work on my fears at times too. I used to hate being in the dark. I feel that way every now and then even today. I hope you're well and the spirits are kind. The south has a reputation for being friendly these days!

Thanks for stopping by! I like the way this just hold you in suspense. That's why I live within city limits : ) In L.A. The boogeyman could be your next door neighbor!

Funny you said that because I just moved to South Carolina from Anaheim CA and my back yard is litterally a forest. I wrote this after I saw a moving, glowing light among the trees. I reported it to my two sisters who then told me they have been seeing it. There could be many tortured souls considering the history of the south from slavery to the civil war, even native americans. I don't go out in the woods alone!
