About This Poem
We went, festival at Boscobel, Shakespeare
We went, the three of us
and with three cousins, too,
the family and the picnicking,
on the lawn in the attendant dusk.
my five year old,
burst into peals
of laughter at all the right moments
the performers carried
the story well, the casual nature
of the performance
the way we share, a love of words
well-spoken, my son still counts those
memories yet.
happy to share a laugh
and a favorite subject
