The Proposal
I tried not to love you but I failed miserably
I tried not to kiss you but when you kissed me
for the very first time; when I felt your lips gently
brushing up against mine they rendered me helpless.
I tried hard to hide my emotions but not a tear
I wept did you not wipe from my eyes.
I tried to be proud and say I didn't need anyone
that I was happy with my life that's when you got
down on one knee looked me in the eyes placed
a ring on my finger and soon after made me your wife
