About This Poem

Human Bacon

I go out seeking the sun's rays

Cool
White
Plump
Moist

I lay there torturing myself

Hot
Sizzling
Salty
Turning

I return inside

Dry
Brown
Wrinkled
Done?????????

This describes me when I was 13-14-15 or so. Always out for the tan...no longer though, after losing my Nan to Melanoma 5 years ago. Not something anyone should go through.

Ha!(though it isn't really a funny topic for many). Right on, Donna, I didn't know wot to expect from the title of the poem. The succinctness of the stages is a good overall effect. I've heard many alternative references towards people using different variations of pork, but I haven't really thought about avid sun-tanners as being bacon, until now.
