About This Poem
Winter's Memory
Winter’s Memory
Winter’s memory unfolds
Through spring days that still grow cold
Through petals already in bloom
That holds onto a snowflake or two
Winter’s memory still rests
Upon Robins still hibernating in their nests
Upon the burnt embers that remain on the ground
From past flames that spring raindrops had drowned
Winter’s memory is shown
Through nature’s cycle still not fully grown
Mother Nature’s way of inviting the winter season
To come back for a reason
Winter’s memory remains
In snowflakes transformed into spring rain
That created a window that fogged from a season once there
That still left its chill in the air
