Generous Opportunity

Warm eager sunlight awoke the aphanitic basalt
Inch by inch, sending earnest shadows along
The earth, racing under rocks and behind
Aspen trees until dusk unveiled velvety air.
Softness of deepening orange sunset arose quietly
And spread outward through opaque clouds initiating
The awesome variety of passionate, imposing colors.
A nocturnal insect chorus awakened by usual
Musky odor, greets even’s shy inhabitants singing
A burst of melody, intriguing bashfulness away.
The ended day unfurled complete as she
Once sauntered into the abandoned garden as
Her agile heart opened melancholy in generous opportunity.

Love your ability to write descriptively like this. It's what I admire most in my favorite poets! I just can't imagine taking my own poems down, but I guess in the event of getting a poem published, one would want to remove the poem from the internet! Good to have you back.
