tracks in fresh snow -
Male foxes are known as dogs or Reynards, females as vixens, and young as kits, pups or cubs. A group of foxes is a "skulk", "leash", "troop" or "earth".
Please see the About section for the photograph which had sparked a lively discussion what animal had made these tracks. It was stated that foxes leave tracks in a single file and the double line of tracks had thrown most people off the scent....
My contribution to the discussion: "Yes, it looks as if it might be the same animal, traveling in both directions - if you look at the slant of the indentations of the two tracks..."
