About This Poem

Jack's Philosophy

At times our life can be so exciting But it also can be quite a bore Today looks like a pretty good day Tomorrow who knows what's in store It's always best to prepare for the worst Then anything else will seem better It's really a great way to look at things Each day will become a red letter Might seem I have a handle on things It's just that I've lived a long time Some smarts were surely bound to rub off But I've never been the genius kind These words of wisdom I share with you Are offered freely without strings To assist my fellow humans get through This old world to which we all cling © Jack Ellison 2013

Your poems are witty, with a little humor, a little sarcasm, a little hope, and are very refreshing. You are really interesting me in these quatrains. I guess because of sonnets, I was already slightly interested in them, but I like how these flow. Great work again, not that I'm any expert, but I did enjoy it.

I broke a toe or 4 on my right foot... But I was prepared for the worst... After all I've done it before... It wasn't a red letter day... Thank goodness... only a black and blue one... ROFL

Dear Jack, Today, some very wise, serious and very profound massage you pass on to all of us. This appears to be an essensial part of your philosophy and I wish it will become as important to the rest of us. Since I am a huble servent of philosophy (I studied and taught the subject in Canada) allow me to judge it as a SUPERB code of living! Now, as far as the…pretty face is concerned well, I got my…good looks just by… your reflection upon me! Ha-ha! Excellent poem! Thank you for sharing.
