Him

Crumbled papers of poems about you
Wishing on things that will never come true.
Typed letters of black and white
continually struggling to keep up this fight.

Everyday I glance your way
in the hope I might catch it one day.
When you do glance my way
you look straight through and continue on your ordinary day.

I don’t blame you
however I wish my dream came true.
I don’t blame you
since you hadn’t a clue.

The hopeful words I wish I could say
And forever you’d stay.
Your name engraved in my heart
Since the very start.
