Infinite Reflections

at the bottom of a coffee cup
lies hidden wisdom unknown
out of sight yet quite visible
unto our innermost thinking

within the reflection unseen
shimmering upon the mirror
behind the rich event horizon
of our boundless naked eye

hope springs eternal out of
the abundance of the heart’s
inner revelation of insight
beyond the dreams of men

as timeless journals of truth
born of a lifetime’s noesis
bear spiritual fruit of peace
o’er life’s shadowy clouds

still this affair of the mind
full of enduring memories
leads us to remember both
the good times and the bad
till rebirth defeats the grave

raising our desperate souls
from the turmoil of death’s
tortuous deceptive promise
its romantic comedy of lies

as every trial or test of being
disappears through sacrifice
till faith’s never-ending gift
fulfills its intended purpose
