About This Poem

Only Time Will Tell

Only Time Will Tell How do we know for certain? That Jesus is there by our side How do we lift our gloomy curtain? And invite him into our lives Only Time Will Tell How do we know that he exists? When all we seem to feel is stress How much longer can we go on like this? With our problems becoming such a mess Only Time Will Tell How do we feel that Jesus is there? We have to take a look at what he’s done Miracles, even the tiniest happen everywhere Our prayers have been answered one by one Only Time Will Tell How do we know that heaven a waits for us to go We have to take a good look at the skies above For seeing beyond comes from a special place in our souls A place where Jesus planted his abundant love

I think your last line explains it. We know because of the abundant love Jesus planted in us. My life was transformed 2 years ago when I finally realized that love given to me as an amazing gift. It is at the very core of much of my poetry. Thanks, Allen

Dear Gail, Jesus is there waiting at the door of our hearts, waiting for us to open it. He never leaves us no matter how far we go away from Him! Beautiful poem filled with divine love! Thank you!

Ah you touched on one of the most prevalent things in my poems, time. You really touched on a truth here. "It is my feeling that Time ripens all things; with Time all things are revealed; Time is the father of truth." Francois Rabelais. I think your poem says that, but in a much more beautiful way.
