About This Poem
Rendezvous
Lying on my back looking up at the sky
I don’t have to close my eyes
Gray clouds are blocking the few rays of sun
which are trying to peek at me on this beautiful day in Autumn
The structure looming near me takes my breath away
Oh, what little breath I have left on this incredible day
A thousand foot tall iron edifice weighing ten thousand tons
makes me feel so small, so vulnerable…
I’m overcome
I feel the blanket under me, I caress it with bare feet
The emotion of this moment… my journey will be complete
This is a fantasy come true
waiting for this rendezvous...
With this man, my heart and soul I’ve shared
Why then, do I feel so unprepared?
I look around at the people walking by,
speaking words I barely recognize ...
I close my eyes
A cool breeze blows gently across my skin…
A loose strand of hair tickles my face as it blows with the wind…
A shadow falls over me, I feel his touch
The one I’ve been longing for so much
He brushes the hair from my eyes… then lingers,
touching my lips with his fingers
His handsome face, his dark eyes, looking down at me
“Bonjour ma chérie… bienvenue à Paris”...
I can’t breathe <3

4th place mention... I think I had the wrong idea of "fantasy" heh ~ Thank you for the lovely comments ~ In case you still don't know the thousand foot tall edifice to which I refer, there's a picture if you click on About This Poem above the title ;)
