Thank You For Reading, I Love You
I’m not quiet sure when it is that I suddenly became poetic
Suddenly everything I saw and experienced needed noting
Perhaps it was a shift in my vision as all appeared aesthetic
From that day on I began to write with every interest doting
I wrote about places and people it didn’t matter what as long
As I had the chance to express myself, I was happy and content
Often after I finished a poem I re-read it, almost like a song
It didn’t bring me fame and fortune, it didn’t pay my rent
But my soul was enriched with every word I scribed in love
I searched like a blind man re-inventing the magic of light
Letting my memory guide me, I know I had help from above
Do you know why God created the imagination? Yes, right!
It is so he can reach us, he gifted us with the gift of the word
When I was little, I felt lost and confused, no one would listen
So I retreated in a fantasy world and the pen became my sword
That’s how I learned to make my words come alive and glisten
So my friend, I will end by saying this to you, I love to read
From one writer to another, know that I do enjoy your poetry
The minute you share your words, you’ve planted the seed
For every poem you share with me, I get to know your story.
Thank you for reading my story, I love you xxx
