About This Poem
The One For You
You say I let my fears get in the way
They cause me to fight love which could be true
I know I try to keep my dreams at bay
I ran from love… and tried to hide from you
You are a source of strength in times of strife
But fears are real when rules we start to bend
And so much rides on where we are in life
The road which we were on… it had to end
But do you think I meant to cause you pain?
Or take from you, your warm nights, or your peace?
To be the one for you would be my gain
I want my fears to leave, my doubts to cease
But if we’re through, and if we have to part…
I’ll be with you… you know you stole my heart
