Excuses
Hello Coach Bob,
I just thought I'd write
A note to tell why
I missed practice last night.
I could say I was sick,
Which was kind-of-sort-of true
But you would not believe that
Sort of thing, would you?
I could say I was busy
With homework and chores, too,
But that is not an excuse
That's strong enough to do.
I could concoct a story,
Unbelievable, but true!
About robbers and car crashes,
But that would not fool you.
I don't know...what's the use?
Could I just say I'm without excuse?
Wait...there was no practice yesterday.
Guess I don't need to write this anyway.
