About This Poem

Jellyfish

There are some that think 'delish'
The octopus and jellyfish
But I think it rather crude
That these creatures pass as food
Even so, some surely think,
The foods I eat odiously stink

    Your verse an appetizer, Served before the main course, You may ask if I liked it, My answer is: Of course!, We in Greece consider octopus (The eight- leg- creature) A delicacy, served boiled, dried or grilled. Grilled the best I think. So much said, so little written. Thank you.

    a fun rhyme on jellyfish!! In Spain, I was eating a sandwich many years ago that was quite tasty and when I asked what it was, they told me a word I didn't know. I later found out I was eating an octopus sandwich. I was really surprised because I imagined it would taste rubbery but it just tasted like a great fried fish sandwich. But the way they serve it in restaurants looking so gross, YES, I think I would hate that too!! Anyway, I hope you can taste a fried octopus sandwich one day!!

    They are both considered delicacies. If I were Japanese I would probably love both.

    Around the Mediterranean, octopus is considered a delicacy. The Hime food company of Japan puts it in cans like sardines and anchovies. I've never heard of anyone eating jellyfish. I don't think I want to try it. Interesting poem.
