The web

 A spider awaits a butterfly
As it comes fluttering by
It's caught in the silken trap
and struggles as its wings flap
Battling for survival under blue skies

The spider moves in for the kill
As the butterfly struggles still
 It escapes the silky threads
Soars to freedom with wings spread
As it floats by the daffodils

You have captured this so well. It is always great to see them escape..... once I even helped one.

Joseph, love the web poem, shows how life interacts in just a tiny, lovely place.

I can't decide which of the two versions I prefer. Maybe this one. It's not quite limerick meter in the middle lines of the stanzas, but I sure do like it!

hey you fooled me, I thought it was gonna be a poem about the internet, but instead I was more pleasantly rewarded with this sweet story of a butterfly's escape from harm!
