Aw, I just read this for the first time today... I agree with what some of the poets have said here... write for the love of writing and sharing your thoughts. Enter contests and if you win, that is icing on the cake. Also, friendship is a far better prize. I'm glad you came back.

Would be nice to win in one of the contests for the grand prize of money !! I did win a few on the LuLu site when it was still open. I've noticed also that PoetrySoup has not offered new contests and has not judged the last two from June of last year... Write for the pleasure of writing ...share for those who love reading. Know how you feel, Jancarl. I've been writing poetry for 40 years and found that the only satisfaction is to be able to communicate, even if only with a few. Congrats on the selection. It communicates. daver
