A New Year's Prayer
Heavenly Father, hear my plea
At your altar on bended knee.
Prayers I offer for those I love,
Prayers to you Lord, up above.
You have seen the mess we've made.
Not the plans that you had laid.
Everywhere there's war and sadness
Where there should be peace and gladness.
You must be disappointed in us all,
Each of us who ignored your call.
All mankind should this year strive
Really hard to keep humanity alive.
Lord please help us do our best
On your behalf, a peaceful quest.
Rid this earth of anger and hate.
Don't let our past dictate our fate.
