Dear Friend
We had only recently met
It seems I've known you more
Your mark already set
Your presence reaching my core
The time we share always a joy
My faith in friendship renewed
I covet like a child with a toy
Or money to the shrewd
Each absence gives time to reflect
What direction will this take
A bond of understanding and respect
Kindness for the very sake
Way too soon to know what will pass
But I enjoy all sand in the hour-glass
