About This Poem
Contemplating Nothing
She lies
Motionless
As if she’s dead
Absorbing the sunlight from the sky
Thinking of nothing
Contemplating
Nothing
Just laying
On the padded grass
Taking in the sunlight
Engrossed in the act of doing nothing
And not thinking about it
Just lying there, bored
Doing nothing
Not a thing
To think on
Just emptiness in the mind
Lack of thought
Letting the sunlight
Bring in the warmth necessary
To breathe life
Into nothing
Not desiring
To think on nothing
Just lying there
Without a worry in the world
No thoughts at all
Just laying
Nothing
Doing and being nothing
Is my objective
Today…
Nothing
