A Friend
As a friend, I see you as who you actually are,
As a friend, I’ll be cautious of your drinks if we’re ever in a bar,
As a friend, I greatly acknowledge your intellect,
As a friend, for you I’ll kill any type of insect...
BUT
LUCKILY FOR YOU-I’M NOT A FRIEND
I’M NOT JUST A FRIEND
............
I’m not a friend that sees you as who you actually are,
I mean even though you now live quite far,
I remember the ridiculing hilarious stuff we did,
We would dance and joke and kid,
Stuff that over the net one can’t send,
I appreciate and cherish the moments together we spend,
These memories are kept in the safety deposit of one’s heart,
I’m more than just a friend, as if I were not,
You moving to Korea would have broken us apart,
So there you go again- you made me cry,
I’ll count to ten, and let out a sigh,
So dear friend a simple letter may remind you of what we used to do,
But a poem might just work too...
