About This Poem
Alone in the darkness
Within the darkness I can write,
The release of isolation's blight
Within the darkness I can cry,
No need to be so shy.
Within the darkness I am alone,
Shadowed voices endless drone
Within the darkness eyes aglow,
The horrors of it all overflow.
Within the darkness lives a fear,
That goodness isn’t really here
That loneliness and despair,
Will always be written there.
Within the darkness I write of hope,
though that maybe a slippy slope.
Within the darkness a scented rose,
Sweet redemption in the word of prose.
Within the darkness a beacon of light,
A poet’s heart will always write.
Within the darkness vibrantly alive,
Ingenuity has taught me to survive.
