About This Poem
The Blue Hour
The sun sets into the gloaming horizon
Trailing goodbye kisses into a blushing pink sky
Giving the still sleeping moon a little nudge
Selene tipsy from a downpour
That the clouds had showered on her
She had tried to hide behind their cumulus curtain
But they sailed right over her and doused her
She realized she had swallowed some of that
Transparent stuff that they seemed to have dispensed freely.
Feeling eclipsed, bleary eyed and blue, a hangover crescenting...
Venus strides in sparkling in her sequined finery
Decked up for the night...the stars flock around her,
In a playful mood, celebrating the night
Shooting their mouths off, whizzing off like fireflies
Into mortal realm, a sudden wind careens crazily
Into the trees below, swaying branches open their
Arms towards the sky, wind whispering wishful
Thoughts suspended in the air
As twilight deepens into night..wrapping earth
In a velvety dark blanket
A white faced moon peers down gently..
