White

The almost full harvest moon
Radiates light 'pon cotton
Those fields ripe for full harvest
Which can produce many a ton

So many uses this product
Grown in Georgia fields 'tis best
Which can produce many a ton
Those fields ripe for full harvest

What about those lost human souls
Children of whom we are so fond
Those fields ripe for full harvest
Which can produce many a ton

Souls that long to become white
Souls no longer chained depressed
Which can produce many a ton
Those fields ripe for harvest

This is a mirrored refrain as explained
by Erich Goller on his work Understanding

The cotton fields tragedy and wealth are captured in your lovely poem, the form really contributes to the twisting contrast between the two. Lovely Sara
