A Late Return

I drove up to a Blockbuster
to rent a dvd.
I gave the clerk
my credit card
and she just looked at me.

Like I was a bad criminal
or committed a crime.
Almost like she
didn't think
I'd give it back on time.

But I just ignored her strange look
and headed for my house.
I could not wait
to watch it with
my three kids and my spouse!

When I got home I put the disk
on the shelf near some light.
And didn't pick
it up again.
to watch later that night.

It's been there ever since and I
have never taken it.
Back to the store
I got it from.
I'm on there wanted list!

Never rented a DVD - too much pressure.
