About This Poem
When We Need Her
If there is an earthquake,
If there is thunder and lightning,
If there is a fire,
If there is a hurricane,
If there is a tsunami,
There is nothing left.
If there is a riot,
If there is looting,
If there is a person dying,
If there is destruction,
There is confusion.
If jobs are lost,
If coins are gone,
If food supplies are sparse,
There are only loaves to eat.
we won’t fret
or complain,
‘cause we’re sure
She will
be there:
Mom.
