Oh Deer

I crawl through the underbrush.
Swiping branches from my eyes.
Not knowing what I will find.
Deer poses for me.

Why do people choose to kill?
This I do not understand.
I am left so very sad.
As I question why

My camera held in my hand.
Capturing moment in time.
Eyes so innocence stare back.
This image preserved

The sound of camera clicking
Branch snaps beneath startled hoof
Ears twich breath blows through warm nose
Quick graceful retreat.

Thanks, never really liked the idea of shooting animals. I do however love being in the bush.

Enjoyed this - have wandered through the bushes often. Sometimes the critters pause to see what's coming, sometimes they explode in flight and scare the daylights out of the wanderer.

Grew up in Northern Ontario, still love being out in the bush, kinda like part of my DNA. Glad you enjoyed John.

You are getting a good grasp of the Dodoitsu I see! It is a different form, hard to get sometimes, but worth it when you can get it right! You are doing a great job with it, keep it up! I really enjoyed reading this awesome and delightful poem this afternoon! What a terrific piece, Great Work!!
