About This Poem

Babies

Sound the horn
Babies born
Storks in flight
Day and night
Bringing cheer
Through the year
From the air
Babies, Babies everywhere

Baby boy
Sounding off
Baby girl
Oh, so soft
Tiny all
Watch them grow
Infant noise
Tender joys
Babies, Babies everywhere

Little Sam
Here I am
Come and nurse
I'll sing verse
I must pull you
From my breast
So that Mom may
Get some rest
Babies, Babies everywhere

I feel exhausted and all I had to do was read the poem. Another fun one.

Thank you Lucilla. This poem was inspired by William Blake. It is a parody of one of his poems. I love to parody William Blake poems for some reason.

Such a priceless way to give babies their rightful place. Love the little darlings and you manage to make them so wonderful.

Nice meter, it is overwhelming how there are babies toted everywhere....they are in fashion now--dressed in designer togs--just like small dogs...poor kids...should be home snuggly safe in their quiet little space without being dragged around...

Thank you Victoria. This poem is another of my "Blake" parodies. How I love to parody William Blake.
