About This Poem

salvage hope

…for when there is no hope, tomorrow dies…
your life becomes an effaced inscription,
a stratified journey beneath the lies.

Your heart feels burnt like a pierced incision
as you confute the demons of despair.
Your life becomes an effaced inscription,

that needs salvaging and urgent repair.
With help from your friends comes the boldness
as you confute the demons of despair.

Once you believe and embrace the oneness,
you gain the courage to blot out the past.
With help from your friends comes the boldness

to accomplish the dreams you once amassed.
Rid yourself of thorns that make your life stall.
You gain the courage to blot out the past.

Rejoice when you break down the hopeless wall!
…for when there is no hope, tomorrow dies…
Rid yourself of thorns that make your life stall -
… a stratified journey beneath the lies.

your well chosen word pictures here are heavenly as are friends who can get us through. The word "confute" is a new one on me and I thank you for adding it to my list (in my mind). "Your heart feels burnt like a pierced incision as you confute the demons of despair. Your life becomes an effaced inscription," is inspired. What a poem. love, Kathy

Now that I have struggled with this style, I have a new appreciation of your mastery. You are a very talented young lady. I have enjoyed connecting with you through your words.

What? Richard, you did very well on yours. I wrote this and I got a headache(literally) and I still think it needs some work. So I guess we'll both have to continue working on the style, I mean it.
