Inanimate Object

cold and steely with no mind
smooth but rough at the same time
no control over the damage caused
needed for protection 
but lusted after for the power to rule

    Interesting thought set out- what we view as having a mind to rule, or conversely being absent a portion of consciousness and thus designated inanimate
