This time around

This time around won't be like the rest
I'm gonna take my time and do what's best
Reach for the stars and touch the sky
Soar with the wind in my wings and fly

This time around won't be touch and go
Cause I know what I like and like what I know
I am smart and I'm strong and I know my worth
And will stand out and be counted on this earth

This time around will be up instead of down
No long twisty turns or slow sinking ground
Cause this lost person has now been found
and I refuse to remain captive and be bound

This time around I'm gonna make it through
Gonna do all the things I know I should do
Fight a good fight all the way to the end
Go for what I know and on myself depend

I sense determination here. Good poem.. Good for you. We should all take note and point to better goals the first time around.... I like your style..... Jake

A pleasure to sit and read poetry this morning. We are getting snow from the Hurricane and the cold northern air coming down from Canada here is Piqua, Ohio this morning. I am glad your excellent poem was one that I came across to read. I hope you are having a good day and if you are in the mist of this weather that you are safe and remain safe Gwen. Love, Carol
