About This Poem

Itch

twitching
like an addict
waiting watching
to hear from you
because this itch
needs scratching
i need something
you have
to get my fix
to suck adrenaline
into my parched veins
the high that calms
my anxious
strung out psyche
i hate myself
my trembling fingers
that dial your number
then hang up
i hate
knowing that high
owns me
that high of your voice
your touch
your glance
i can't reach
that itch
that desperate itch
only you can scratch

I love your style of tumble down thoughts.

A pleasure to sit and read poetry this morning. We are getting snow from the Hurricane and the cold northern air coming down from Canada here is Piqua, Ohio this morning. I am glad your excellent poem was one that I came across to read. I hope you are having a good day and if you are in the mist of this weather that you are safe and remain safe Blythe. Love, Carol
