About This Poem
Autumn in California
California is a desert, beautiful for
long days of Spring, but Autumn
in Los Angeles, like most things,
is mainly based on traffic...if you
are lucky enough to drive by a tract
of homes that has a Maple tree or two
the leaves will turn colors but it is
nothing like back east. Our summers
lasts until November. Most the plants
here are bougainvillaeas and those
that endure desert heat. The rains come
quickly, usually in February, but not
for long. We don't really have Autumn
in the sense you are referring
to, though it sounds very nice.
