Mothers Growing Older

Another cycle in life unfolds
As we watch our mom grow old
Like a veil that was lifted away
I saw how frail she looked today
Silver threads among her hair
She looks so fragile sitting there
I'd like to fold her in my arms
Keep her warm,safe from harm
By her love I am so beguiled
In my heart I am her child
With her love I've gotten far
She'll always be my shining star
And when her light begins to dim
A part of me will die within
Every day I sit with her a while
Just to listen to her,see her smile
So each day I say a prayer
I'm so thankful she is here

Oh! What a great write! I read it with tearful eyes. Your powerful words melted my heart like snow after winter. My mother died when I was hardly 12 years old. Till today her love and caring has not been erased from my soul. Your love for your mother is examplary. -Mohammad

I feel the same way about my mom. She's in her 50s and her name is Miss Shellon. I feel like me and my mom grew up together. I'm turning 32 soon. I am just as happy as you are that my mom is still alive and in good health and I hope she lives long enough to see me get married and have babies and become more Independent as a woman. My mother is my best ally she always was.
